(PRWEB) August 12, 2006 -- Latino Singing Sensation, Johnny Vasquez signs with MCM-Nashville. "Johnny Vasquez" will become the cornerstone of the new Latino Division. Ricardo Rodriquez moves into Director of A&R position at MCM-Nashville.

MCM-Nashville announces the signing of Latin sensation, Johnny Vasquez, to an exclusive recording contract. Johnny Vasquez, originally from Guatemala, has a long and prosperous career as a singer, song writer and television personality and will represent MCM-Nashville new Latino Division. According to MCM-Nashville Director of Operations, Mark Carman, the company plans to build an entirely separate sub-label called “MCM-Latino” as a subsidiary to its primary MCM-Nashville brand. “By this, we intend to open up the doors of Nashville's music business to the various genres of music which are appealing to the already large and still growing Latino community,” said Carman. Carman went on to say, “Johnny Vasquez will become the cornerstone on which this company will begin to build the new MCM-Latino division.”

Johnny Vasquez began Johnny began his professional career in the United States 1986 where he often appeared at some of the more trendy night clubs in and around Los Angeles, CA. In 1990 he recorded his first album, “De piel a cuerpo” in Los Angeles. The album included Johnny’s first hit, “Amiga” which was composed and well as performed by Johnny himself. Over the years Johnny Vasquez has continued to delight audiences with his silky smooth voice and is delivery of his trademark sensual Latin love songs like; Por Favor, Solitario, and of Este Amore.

In a second announcement, MCM-Nashville announced today that its new Latino Division will be headed by radio personality, Ricardo Rodriquez. Rodriquez who has hosted the popular morning radio shows "Ricardo, the Latin Lover" for the past several years in Nashville, will serve as Director of A&R. According to him, Johnny’s first release on the new MCM-Latino label will be entitled “The Best of Johnny Vasquez, and will be comprised of Johnny’s most memorable songs” In the meantime, producer Mark Carman will be selecting new material for an all new Johnny Vasquez recording direct from Music City USA.
