Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) August 14, 2006 -- BREATHE™, one of the nation’s leading marketing consulting firms that focuses exclusively on the retail shopping experience has taken aim at some of the world’s largest retailers. During this back-to-school season, BREATHE is analyzing retailers, auditing presentations in-store, and recommending ways to enhance the shopping experience for consumers. The results of this research will be concluded in a comprehensive report made available to the public in the Fourth Quarter 2006 and will be available online at breathesolutions.com.

BREATHE will focus this back-to-school audit on the mass trade channel According to a Women’s Wear Daily study, “Where America Shops,” published on July 10, 2006, 53 percent of women purchase their casual wear at discounters such as Wal-Mart, Target and Kmart. This trend holds significant implications for both manufacturers and retailers alike.

“In an age of Tivo, spam filters and satellite radio, reaching consumers has become more challenging than ever,” said Ciri Fenzel, founder and principal consultant of BREATHE Retail Consulting. “In this challenging and rapidly evolving time, retail marketing as a component of the integrated marketing campaign is more important than ever; and yet, this lesser known, more ambiguous marketing medium needs more definition and understanding in order for it to realize its full potential.”

Fenzel, who has over 14 years of marketing experience with Fortune 100 companies including Reebok, Wrangler, Hanes and Champion said that although, manufacturers want more control and confidence over how their brand is presented at retail, ”They remain unsure how to apply their traditional brand communication to innovative solutions at retail. BREATHE is employed as a marketing ’strategist’ in order to develop those solutions across the retail spectrum. We use a great deal of observational research such as retail audits and assessments, ethnography, and trend analysis to bring fresh perspectives and insight to our clients.

“More and more,” Fenzel said, “selling a product at mass in today’s turbulent marketplace is a daunting task, even for the largest manufacturers. But when you understand how to navigate the terrain in-store, when you’re guided by comprehensive research, and when you have an illuminated view of future trends, the marketing effort can become manageable, predictable and profitable.”

BREATHE collaborates with associates in research, creative, and production to provide manufacturers and advertising agencies innovative, enduring and integrated marketing communication solutions to meet the reality of today’s retail marketing challenges. As BREATHE’s Founder and Principal Consultant, Ciri Fenzel has over 14 years of marketing experience with Fortune 100 companies. She has worked extensively with admired and trusted brands that include: Reebok, Hanes, Hanes Her Way, Champion, Wrangler, Journeys, Riders by the Makers of Lee, Chic, Gitano, Rustler, Bestform, Curvation, VF Corporation, Just for Feet, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Belk, Stroller Strides and Rack Room Shoes.
