Fashion Jam ’06 Welcomes DJ Louie DeVito and Carl Henry
Star-studded line up grows for Staten Island Mall event on Saturday, September 16, 2006.
Staten Island, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2006 -- DJ Louie DeVito and Carl Henry are the latest acts confirmed to perform on the A.W.E. (Advance Weekly Entertainment) Soundstage for Fashion Jam ’06 at the Staten Island Mall, 2655 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY, on Saturday, September 16, 2006.
DJ Louie DeVito and Carl Henry join previously announced performers Manhattan recording artist Louise Setera, “Young Zah” Zieme, ‘The Bad Boy of Dance’ Lucas Prata, Mindset recording artist Luz-Divina, sexy dance diva Danielle Bollinger, Robbins Entertainment recording artist Reina and Geffen recording artist Joanna for this event.
“My only concern is giving a kick ass party,” says DJ Louie DeVito, who has done just that on dance floors all over the world, including the crème de la crème of nightclub chains, Pacha. A New Jersey resident, DeVito will spin radio friendly smashes and big beats to rock Fashion Jam ’06.
Jamaican/Canadian Carl Henry has toured all over Europe, opening for Mary J. Blige, De La Soul, and Ashanti. He was nominated for Best Reggae Recording at the 2004 and 2005 Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys). Henry’s latest CD I Wish is available now on CeSoul Music, distributed by DEP/Universal.
Manhattan recording artist Louise Setera (“Little Star” in Punjabi) is only 18 years old, but she already has a world of experience behind her. “I’m young,” she says, ”but I’ve lived with this passion for so long. I can’t wait to share it.” Setera will perform songs from her upcoming CD Still Waters, which includes the Seal penned tune, “Can’t Stop the River.”
Brooklyn native Zieme (“Young Zah”) is proud to bring “a ghetto, sexy, soul feeling” to Fashion Jam 2006. The young heartthrob is much more than a pretty face, however. He promises to keep it real with songs from his CD Scream My Name.
Known as ‘The Bad Boy of Dance,’ Lucas Prata’s latest single “And She Said…(Y Dices)” has been released as a club mix, a pop mix, a Spanish mix, a Spanglish mix, and even a Reggaeton version to satisfy his rabid and diverse fan base. Prata, a Queens, New York, native, has been featured on the Today Show, CNN Best of the Web 2005, Good Morning America, and in the New York Times, and Billboard magazine. Most recently, Prata’s music was heard on the Fox TV smash So You Think You Can Dance.
Former Star Search contestant Danielle Bollinger's dance anthem “When the Broken Hearted Love Again” spent 17 weeks near the top of the Billboard dance charts and was the number one song on XM Satellite Radio’s dance channel. Her latest single “Kiss the Sky” boasts a Madonna influence and an intoxicating beat.
Luz-Divina’s debut CD The Other Side features the single “Just Wanna Be Me.” “I’m rock, urban, soul, and underground all rolled in one,” proclaims the Mindset recording artist. The 20-year-old Bronx native moved from the U.S. to the Dominican Republic as a child, returning to the New York area as a teenager to attend the famed High School of the Performing Arts. Luz-Divina’s musical influences represent the varied cultures she experienced. “I define myself as a funky urban Latina village rocker bohemian chick,” she laughs.
From her recent performance on Live With Regis and Kelly to her hit singles “Find Another Woman,” “Anything For Love,” “Gotta Love For You,” “No One’s Gonna Change You” and “If I Close My Eyes,” Reina, which means Queen in Spanish, is known and loved by music fans everywhere, especially by those in the tri-state area. Reina’s hits are heard on local radio stations WKTU, Z100, WDRE, WBLI, WNEW, and satellite stations Sirius and XM. The Bronx born star, dubbed “this generation’s Donna Summer” by television legend Regis Philbin, says, “Whenever I sing, I’m touched by the response of my audience. I’ve watched them be moved from laughter to tears” Reina is excited to return to Staten Island Mall for her second Fashion Jam.
From starring in the 20th anniversary national tour of Annie to opening select dates for Sheryl Crow on her current concert tour, Joanna has graced stages all over the United States and Canada. Featured on MTV’s True Life and the WB’s What I Like About You, Joanna is a familiar face to today’s teen audience. Joanna’s debut CD My Crazy Life, featuring the first single “Let It Slide” and a cover of Dashboard Confessional’s "Screaming Infidelities,” hits stores August 15th. “It is really important to me that I am seen as a credible. I have worked hard and my music has come so far,” shares Joanna. “I am so anxious to share it with the world." Joanna will get her chance to share her music not only at Fashion Jam ’06 but also as the opening act for Nick Lachey’s U.S. tour.
Staten Island Mall’s Fashion Jam is a much-anticipated annual event. “We’re outdoing ourselves from last year’s show with more music, more fashions, and more giveaways,” reveals David Albertson, Staten Island Mall Marketing Manager. “Shoppers will be in fashion heaven as they spend a stylish afternoon seeing our stores’ latest trends and soaking up the sounds of the best musical entertainment available.”
