The Young Crowd Gets Revamped

Washington, D.C. native teen music group "Profound Intent" (formerly Young Crowd), prepares for their nationwide USA debut mixtape release "Revamped" by conducting a positive youth encouragement assembly “Revamped in Progress".

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) August 16, 2006 -- The Young Crowd is getting “Revamped” by the next teen sensation, “Profound Intent” (formerly known as Young Crowd), a Washington, D.C. native girl/boy music group focused strongly on displaying positive self-morals for today’s youth in hope for a better tomorrow through their music, appearances, actions and affiliations. Founding members Larry “LaPret” Pretlow II (17), Kie’Arra “Mizz Redz” Pretlow (17), Mitchell “Big Mitch” Brown (16), newcomers Jahnae “Misty” Johnson (15), and Alexis “A’Jay” Dudley (youngest, 15) vow to deliver a positive influence on youth of all ages, with music that serves as an alternative to music that promotes and encourages the use of drugs, violence and sex on their forthcoming debut street-release “Revamped”, currently slated to release nationwide on December 05, 2006 as a mixtape.

The five teenagers that make up independent recording artist “Profound Intent” (unsigned) are showing optimistic signs of being trendsetters of the “new music industry” where sex, drugs, and violence will no longer serve as significant factors in selling records. In an early effort to promote their mixtape release and their purpose, Profound Intent is teaming up with principals, ministers, and center directors of local schools and recreational centers as well as elected officials in both the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County, Maryland, to conduct the “Revamped in Progress: Youth Encouragement Assembly”; a non-profit community effort to promote the importance of youth of all ages to be better individuals at a time when society needs positive change the most. The group is currently looking for sponsors to sponsor the assembly. The concept of the assembly was created by founding member and front man Larry “LaPret” Pretlow II (Rapper/Songwriter).

Profound Intent is asking more local principals, teachers, ministers, center directors, students, advocates, organizations and community members to contact them, so that they can conduct the “Revamped in Progress: Youth Encouragement Assembly” in their communities. “The Revamped in Progress: Youth Encouragement Assembly is a task of the community, and a step towards a better tomorrow,” says Profound Intent. The assembly will feature musical performances from Profound Intent and other local artist as well as community events that will take place for the rest of the day after each presentation of the assembly. The assembly will be presented as scheduled in local community schools, churches and centers.

Currently aiming for a professional recording contract with a major label, Profound Intent is establishing musically with their debut street-single release, appropriately titled “What’s Poppin” slated to release to local radio and other music outlets September 18, 2006 in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, New York and Atlanta, Georgia. The single “What’s Poppin” introduces Profound Intent as a struggling music group finally releasing a single and establishing themselves. In the song they reveal “Somebody once said that we would never make it but look at us standing here now, you can’t fake this, it’s a reality what they said would never be,” a statement that clearly defines the single and the groups strength.

Profound Intent originally formed as a kiddy hip/hop quartette “The Platinum Kids” in April 1999 and has undergone several membership changes. In July 2004, the group began performing as “Young Crowd” a teen Urban Crank Music Group and proclaimed themselves as Positive Advocates for Youth (PAY’S).
