New York, NY (PRWEB) August 16, 2006
The American Association of Employees and Self-Employed Persons (AAESEP), a non-profit organization offering American workers access to information, referrals to job training and job search organizations, and opportunities to act as advocates on the policies and programs that will dramatically affect their lives, has added a critical new service to their growing list of programs.
AAESEP’s Executive Director Tyler Malin says “I am thrilled about the re-launch of AAESEP's website, http://www.aaesep.org. We have had a vision of creating a non-profit organization devoted to empowering American employees by providing them with information, products and services related to our four interest areas: Healthcare Access, Employee Rights, Career Development and Retirement Planning since our inception in 1983 and this new website makes the goals and mission of this organization a reality.”
One of the most important aspects of the new website is that it is among the first in the country to allow individuals to register for group rate health insurance online. This creates incredible efficiencies and creates savings for AAESEP members. Currently AAESEP rates on family plans are up to $400/month less then what is available on the individual market. AAESEP currently has group rate health insurance plans available to members in the New York City area, with plans to expand to all 50 states in the coming year.
AAESEP Founder Roger Madon says, “I ask that all Americans who are interested in the welfare of the nation’s employees to visit the new site, browse our content, use our new tools and let us know what you think. If you like what you see tell your family and friends, this is the way word of mouth begins! By taking a minute to browse the site, register for e-mail updates or perhaps even join as a member or make a donation yourselves, you can participate in helping us achieve our organization's important goals.”
The new website also features several AAESEP publications in the areas of: health insurance decision making, anti-discrimination law, sexual harassment law, and career development. These guides are available to all e-members of the organization as well as those joining as full members. These guides evidence AAESEP’s commitment to serving employees in every aspect of their working lives.
AAESEP endeavors to deliver information to the public on issues related to work and employment; support high-quality research into areas of interest to working and self-employed persons, provide referrals to a variety of services including legal services, retirement planning, health insurance, education and job skills training; become the premier source of information to policy makers, the business community, political leaders, and academic researchers on issues related to employment and link a wide variety of professional associations and related groups dedicated to meeting the changing needs of today's workforce.
