'Durham Day' Festivities set for August 26-27, 2006 in Atlanta
A weekend honoring coach Hugh Durham for his fifty years in basketball coaching is set for August 26-27, 2006 in Atlanta.
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) August 17, 2006 -- A weekend honoring College Basketball Legend Hugh Durham’s fifty years in coaching is set for August 26th-27th at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA. The weekend will be highlighted by former players such as Dave Cowens, Dominique Wilkins and Vern Fleming, as well as and coaching contemporaries like Lefty Driesell, Bobby Cremins, Wimp Sanderson and Sonny Smith.
The Durham Day events will be kicked off on Saturday by reunion roasts of the three schools where Coach Durham holds the all-time wins record – Florida State University, the University of Georgia and Jacksonville University. The day will then be capped off by a Tribute Banquet at 6pm.
On Sunday morning, The Dunkin’ Durham Roast will be presented by E5 Motivation, a motivational speaking organization where Coach Durham now serves as the Chief Motivational Coach. Many of the “who’s who” in college basketball will use this forum to roast and recognize Coach Durham’s many achievements over the past fifty years.
