The Phelon Group announced today that Whitney K. Wood, formerly a senior customer content and communications expert with Oracle Corporation, has joined the organization to enable companies to get a better return on their customer evidence.
As senior consultant, Wood will take on a client-facing role that will involve helping companies better understand how their buyer audiences make decisions, map those requirements to their unique selling process and build arsenals of evidence that are unique and defensible. Since 2002, the Phelon Group has helped organizations minimize the clutter of underutilized customer success stories. Whitney brings significant analytical and content experience, as well exceptional knowledge of working with quantitative evidence and enterprise sales teams.
Wood worked with and was instrumental in the development of Oracle’s high-caliber global customer programs. She possesses a strong background in strategic customer programs such as customer reference and executive sponsor, complemented by the knowledge of complex stakeholder management skills and expertise in negotiating across lines of business. Additional practice areas will include customer evidence program development and management, customer reference program innovation and process, as well as customer communication messaging and planning.
Wood’s career has also encompassed online publishing, editing, developmental editing, and design of both print publications and online vehicles. Prior to her position at Oracle, she served as a producer and editor for a virtual agency, Raise the Bar. At WebRN, she was deputy managing editor with full responsibility for editorial operations.
Wood holds a Master of Liberal Arts from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore.
