Annie Sims Set to Release New Single on Aspirion Records
International Country Music recording artist poised to win the hearts of fans everywhere.
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) August 17, 2006 - Aspirion Records recording artist, Annie Sims, will release her latest single, "Eighty Acres of Stars" on August 21, from her U.S. debut album, Half the Moon. Renowned Music Row critic, Robert K. Oermann, recently graced Sims with a "DisCovery Award" stating, "Her sweet, languid and crystal-clear vocal is perfect for this tuneful romance. Very, very pretty."
Although somewhat of a "newcomer" in the U.S., Sims, a Tennessee native, has already made quite a name for herself in Europe. Her debut album, Annie, released in the U.K., paved the way for her to tour the continent - to great critical acclaim - as the opening act for legendary country singer, Don Williams, the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Gene Pitney, and most recently as the musical guest of Neale Donald Walsch, author of the New York Times best-seller book series, Conversations With God. With "Eighty Acres of Stars," Sims is poised to win the hearts of fans everywhere.
"Eighty Acres of Stars," written by esteemed tunesmiths Richard Leigh and Layng Martine, Jr., is a beautiful ballad that tells the true story of how Leigh proposed to his wife, Shannon. Sims was so inspired by their classic love tale that she recently shot the video for the song on their farm in Middle Tennessee - where the real-life story took place. Leigh has penned some of country's most beloved songs, including "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" recorded by Crystal Gayle, and "The Greatest Man I Never Knew," by Reba McEntire.
Sims is ecstatic about "Eighty Acres of Stars" and says, "I'm so grateful to have gotten the chance to record such a beautiful song from two of Nashville's finest songwriters. I've loved it ever since I heard the demo, and whenever I perform it in concert it's always everybody's favorite."
