A Hopeful, Healing Novel to Benefit Victims of Abuse

The spirit of a mother protects her daughter from her husband’s abuse in Elvira Celis Hawk’s "The Grave Beyond."

Villa Park, Orange, CA (PRWEB) August 19, 2006 -- When a young mother is murdered by her husband, her ghost protects her daughter from his advances in Elvira Celis Hawk’s "The Grave Beyond."

"The Grave Beyond" tells the story of Camellia, who left her dream of being a ballerina to be with the husband she adored. But when she discovered he was molesting their daughter Sarah, she prayed for God’s protection for herself and her daughter. Tragically, her husband murders Camellia. But God kept his promise, allowing Camellia’s spirit to stay in the home and guard her daughter against his nefarious deeds. But even more amazingly, Camellia discovers she can help hundreds of other children, who have similar plights.

When Hawk’s beloved husband died of colon cancer in 2000, she drowned her sorrows in writing "The Grave Beyond." While she was working on her plot, she discovered that a close friend had been molested as a child. Her friend’s story was so compelling that she decided to incorporate the predicament of battered women and abused children in her novel. Wanting to give them hope, she plans to give the majority of the profits from this book to their causes.

Part fantasy, part supernatural and part murder mystery, "The Grave Beyond" deals with real and important issues. Hawk uses her gift of imagination to explore a world of healing and hope. This story is sure to evoke a response from every reader.
