Rock legends Steppenwolf, The Guess Who and Blood, Sweat and Tears Invade the Jersey Shore compliments of ConcertMasters.
The concert, promoted as “Wildwoodstock,” is expected to draw thousands to the resort for the show presented by Concert Masters in Wildwood, New Jersey.
(PRWEB) August 20, 2006 -- The Wildwoods Convention Center’s continuing summer entertainment series will peak with an Aug. 26 concert featuring ‘60s and ‘70s rock and roll legends Steppenwolf, Blood, Sweat & Tears and the Guess Who performing in the center’s Oceanfront Arena.
Steppenwolf is part of the musical soundtrack to a generation of Baby Boomers. Known for their mega-hits “Born to Be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride, the band rose to fame when “Born to Be Wild” was used in the movie “Easy Rider.”
Blood, Sweat & Tears continues to enjoy popularity in the fourth decade since the formation of the band. “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die,” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy” top the list of the group’s hits. Formed when psychedelic rock was at its zenith, Blood Sweat & Tears has a sound reminiscent of the ‘60s, but with a touch of rhythm and blues and soul carried in sweeping arrangements.
The Guess Who rocketed to stardom in 1969 with the ballad “These Eyes,” which became the group’s first Top 10 hit. Their next hit, “American Woman,” featured less of the blues and jazz and a great deal more rock and roll. “American Woman” has been covered by many artists, including a popular version by Lenny Kravitz several years ago. “Undun,” “No Time,” “No Sugar Tonight” and “Share the Land” are other popular Guess Who tracks that still enjoy frequent airplay.
The Wildwoodstock Rock and Roll show begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26. Tickets are $60 for VIP seating, $45 for reserved and $35 for bleacher seating.
