Born in New Delhi, India, Ken Mathur traveled to the United States in 1956, one of a handful of foreign students to receive a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. A project engineer and Vice President of Brown Boveri Corporation in Switzerland and New Jersey for eighteen years, he also worked as a consultant until very recently.
