Energym - A Workout Facility for Children Ages 6-14 that Incorporates Exercise Equipment with Latest in Technology - is Now Open in Southlake Texas

Energym, a facility which utilizes exergaming equipment integrated with the latest fitness technology is now open in Southlake, Texas. Energym's clientelle is targeted for children aged 6-14 and offers fitness in a fun setting.

Southlake, TX (PRWEB) August 22, 2006 -- Energym, the next generation in fitness for Kids, has opened its doors in Southlake Town Square by offering free classes and hosting free classes in September. Energym is a state of the art facility that incorporates the latest in exercise technology for children ages 6-14. Energym is one of the first fitness centers that engage 6-14 year olds in fitness through Exergaming, which puts the child in the center of simulated action while at the same time providing a Cardiovascular work out. Energym also offers classes that range from Sports Training and Cardio workouts to Yoga, Dance, Kick-Hop, Martial arts and a Confidence Building class for special needs children.

The basic principle of Energym is to offer a complete workout in an atmosphere that is inviting to a child. Upon entering Energym a child will be immediately motivated by observing the different areas of action, which include a virtual world of Intergalactic hand-to-hand combat, an exercise bike that plugs into video games and a treadwall that simulates mountain climbing.

“When I first began to research the idea of Energym, I found that, according to a report by NPD Group, children spend an average of 4.2 hours a week playing video games while research shows that children are becoming less fit”, said Kevin Bolden, owner of Energym. “Today’s children respond to audio and visual stimulation though games and, until now, there were not any facilities that capitalized on this fact. I wanted to design a place for the 99% of children who are not athletic superstars, but who, with the appropriate guidance, can create a pattern of healthy activity that will hopefully last a life time.”
