Child Lures Prevention, the original sexual abuse, abduction and Internet crime prevention program, is pleased to announce the release of the 20th anniversary edition of the Child Lures School Program; newly updated, widely expanded, and officially renamed: “Think First & Stay Safe!”
Based on investigative reporter Ken Wooden’s groundbreaking original research into the methods of convicted child predators, the program has been adopted by thousands of schools, community groups, and faith-based organizations in order to teach youngsters how to protect themselves from sexual and violent crimes.
“Having reached millions of children with essential life-saving lessons over the past twenty years, Child Lures Prevention remains committed to addressing the latest issues and safety concerns facing today’s children,” states founder Ken Wooden. “Our latest edition reflects two decades of positive feedback and invaluable input from educators all across America, making this our most powerful and effective offering ever.”
“’Think First and Stay Safe!’ has been the Child Lures Prevention motto for many years. In making it our School Program’s title, we are demonstrating our continuing determination to empower young people to avoid victimization, while minimizing fear, and reassuring students that the vast majority of people are committed to their happiness and well-being,” said Wooden.
The newest edition of “Think First & Stay Safe!” sees the school program’s most significant expansion since its introduction in 1986, featuring:
- Comprehensive Online Safety integrated throughout program
- Enhanced age appropriateness with separate lesson plans for Grades K-2, 3-6, 7-12
- Redesigned, presenter-friendly lesson plans, featuring practice scenarios, lesson recaps, positive thinking skills and more.
- Expanded video tutorials and classroom multimedia component
- Bullying, Intolerance, Sexual Harassment and Date Rape lesson plans strengthened for Grades 7-12
- Free downloadable web resources, including classroom posters, Family Online Safety Pact and much more.
The Child Lures Prevention school program has been proven effective through scientific evaluations by Sam Houston University and Round Rock (TX) School District, as well as through anecdotal evidence of program graduates evading victimization by using the strategies contained in Think First & Stay Safe!
The Think First & Stay Safe School Program is a component of Child Lures Prevention’s four-part Community Plan. For more information on the program, including testimonials and sample plans, please visit http://www.childluresprevention.com/schools.
