Inland Empire Diversity Career & Job Fair Has 2,000 Jobs Available
The Inland Empire Diversity Career & Job Fair is coming to San Bernardino Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone who wants a great local job without a long commute should attend, especially African-Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asians, veterans, people with disabilities, women and people over age 40.
San Bernardino, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2006 -- The Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair will be held Wednesday, September 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Bernardino Airport Galaxy Center, 1554 Art Townsend, San Bernardino.
Anyone who wants a job without a long commute is welcome to attend. Minorities are especially encouraged to do so.
“Too often, employers assume minorities won’t fit in or won’t be interested in their companies,” said Delores Armstead, vice president of the Inland Empire African American Chamber of Commerce. “Nothing could be further from the truth.”
The employers searching for a diverse local workforce include San Bernardino County, Union Pacific Railroad, Colton Unified, Chaffey Joint Union and Rialto Unified school districts, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Temps Plus, Inc. the United States Army, the United States Navy, the University of Phoenix, 909models.com and more.
What’s it all mean? To organizers it’s simple: We are happy to help people of all ages, races, and backgrounds find the local job they want.
According to Sherrice Mitchell, executive director for the Inland Empire Chamber of Commerce, the unemployment rate for Blacks and Hispanics is two times greater than for whites, and the Diversity Job Fairs can help remedy that.
