LaPret Hits-Hard on SOLO Debut
Washington, D.C. native "LaPret" hits-hard with a positive approach on his solo debut single “Forever N’ All-Ways.”
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 25, 2006 -- Upcoming teen sensation Larry Pretlow II professionally known as LaPret (an acronym for his real name) is taking a proud step from teen music group “Profound Intent” (formerly known as Young Crowd) to pursue his dream of Revamping today’s youth on his own. The Rapper/Songwriter’s decision to pursue a solo venture comes 8 years after the hard knocks his group has had trying to breakthrough since LaPret (now 17) was 9 years old. “This solo venture outside of Profound Intent isn’t permanent; I just wanted to take some time out from the group to release a single of my own, simply for the best interest of both my career and the groups’” says LaPret in a interview with radio personality Michelle Wright of WPGC 95.5 in Marlow Heights, Maryland.
After meeting with “Lyfe Jennings” on August 18, 2006 in Marlow Heights, Maryland at the singers, signing of his new album “The Phoenix,” LaPret says after his encounter with the singer who gave him words of encouragement, he was inspired by Jennings to “step up” his game by expanding his outlook on establishing himself as an artist and a performer. Doing just that, LaPret is hitting-hard on his solo debut single “Forever N’ All-Ways.” The single written from start to finish by LaPret touches on the relationships of teen couples.
“Because making good music is what I do and being a positive advocate for youth, I wanted to make a record that portrays just that. So I thought about some of the issues that are common within my age group as well as in society today,” says LaPret. The single influences teens not to base their relationships on sex at all, rather it tells teen couples to spend their time walking in the park, going to the movies, talking on the telephone, etc. “This record is hard-hitting for myself to be a 17 year-old male and basically telling teen couples to look beyond sex and to be friends not just sexual partners. Cherish the fact that you can relate to someone your age, who loves you for you just as much as you love them for who they are,” says LaPret.
The single “Forever N’ All-Ways” currently slated to release in October 2006 to radio nationwide is expected to hit-hard gaining LaPret and Profound Intent some major attention from the professional music industry. LaPret is currently working with a Washington, DC based radio station and recording studio to conduct the “Make-a-Hit with LaPret” The Search for a Female Vocalist contest. The winner will be featured on LaPret’s forthcoming solo debut single and make live performances with LaPret.
LaPret is a founding-member of Teen Music group “Profound Intent” and is currently signed to Kilah World Entertainment (a new independent record label). The Rapper/Songwriter recently launched the non-profit PAY ORGANIZATION of Washington, DC an effort to help youth voice their opinions and concerns to local lawmakers and elected officials. PAY is an acronym for Positive Advocates for Youth.
