London (PRWEB) August 29, 2006 -- Wake Smith, the Sheffield law firm that recently merged with Benson Clegg Solicitors, taking the number of employees to over 180, has commenced the roll-out of the WinScribe digital dictation system using the new Olympus DR-2000 handheld microphones. The solution is being deployed by SRC, the UK’s exclusive WinScribe Platinum Partner.
Wake Smith is the first law firm to select the new Olympus DR-2000 handheld microphones as its preferred input device. In May 2006, WinScribe announced that it had become the first digital dictation system to integrate with these new generation Olympus Directrec devices. Uniquely, this provides full control of the WinScribe interface from a handheld microphone without requiring any additional software or device drivers, making deployment simple.
Explaining Wake Smith’s reasons for introducing the WinScribe digital dictation system from SRC, Paul Thorn, IT partner and head of family said, “Over the past five years the firm has experienced significant growth, with both turnover and size more than doubling. It’s clear that in order to sustain this growth we need to have the very best systems, processes and infrastructure in place to enable all our staff to work as effectively as possible; digital dictation is a significant part of this strategy.”
“Our objectives for the adoption of WinScribe digital dictation are two-fold, to eliminate peak-time backlogs experienced with our previous analogue tape system, thus reducing document turnaround times, and to provide a robust platform for the firm to grow.”
“We were impressed by the experience of other firms that have been able to support substantial growth using WinScribe from SRC and look forward to achieving similar results.”
The introduction of WinScribe digital dictation is being fully project managed by SRC, who in addition to providing the WinScribe system and Olympus DR-2000 handheld microphones, are delivering a range of high-quality deployment services, including training for authors, secretaries and administrators and support services.
