Papa Gino’s updates look to appeal to current and new guests. 45-year old pizza chain changes name to Papa Gino’s Pizzeria to reflect rich pizza and Italian cuisine roots. Papa Gino's opens new restaurant in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, with new outdoor patio.

Papa Gino’s will unveil its new look and name at its new Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, restaurant at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. at the White City Shopping Center on 20 Boston Turnpike Road on Monday, August 28, 2006. To celebrate its new name, Papa Gino’s Pizzeria and renovated restaurant design, Papa Gino’s will host a grand opening event on Saturday, September 16 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The grand opening event will feature on-air talent from KISS 108 radio station and the opportunity for guests to win prizes.

Papa Gino’s fresh look is the result of extensive guest research and feedback to update the pizza chain’s look and make it more inviting for sit-down luncheons, family evening meals and nights out with friends. The new-look restaurants will feature expanded guest seating with comfortable, updated booths and warmer, more inviting colors. The tables and chairs will incorporate a bistro feel and highlight Papa Gino’s Italian restaurant roots. The Shrewsbury location will also feature an outdoor patio area for guests’ enjoyment.

In addition, an updated décor and a larger expanded counter will be incorporated into the design. The new counter area will showcase a larger feature board and offers direct viewing of the pizza maker. Papa Gino’s will also incorporate a new statement, “The family pizzeria since 1961,” to reflect its long-standing success in the pizza industry within New England. This statement will appear in Papa Gino’s future advertising campaigns.

“By developing a new restaurant design, logo and tagline, we are highlighting our pizzeria roots and providing our guests with an updated, inviting atmosphere to dine in,” said Michael McManama, Senior Vice President of Brand Development for Papa Gino’s Pizzeria. “Our updated look is a direct response to our extensive guest research. Our guests were looking for a more rewarding dine-in experience while enjoying Papa Gino’s signature high-quality pizza and Italian food favorites.”

In addition to the new design, Papa Gino’s will offer new menu items, including the Eggplant panini, new desserts and the recently introduced, highly popular Rustic Pizza.

September 16 Grand Opening Event

Guests attending the grand opening event with Kiss 108 on September 16 will receive free samples of the Rustic Pizza, enjoy face painting activities for the kids and have the opportunity to spin the prize wheel. Everyone who spins the prize wheel will receive a prize. Papa Gino’s mascot, Pizza Slice Man, will be there to assist guests and provide additional entertainment for the kids. In addition, children meals will retail for $.99 with the purchase of an accompanying adult meal.
