The 2006 Inc. 500 list measures revenue growth from 2002 through 2005. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2005, and have at least $600,000 in net sales in the base year. Inc. verifies all information using tax forms and audited financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
