Real Estate Blog Discusses Changes in Real Estate Industry and What May Happen When The Housing Bubble Bursts?
“Change is one of the few constants in life,” or so the saying goes, but when it comes to the speed and dexterity required to effectively adapt to new market conditions and adopt new methods of conducting business that foresee those conditions and adequately account for them – that kind of change is a different beast altogether. The real estate industry today finds itself at that crossroad of change.
(PRWEB) August 26, 2006 -- www.RealBlogging.com the official blog of the real estate industry, is tackling numerous important and sensitive issues in the real estate industry.
According to one of the latest blogs on the site, “No void remains empty forever, and the question he pose this week is whether existing real estate brokerages can reengineer themselves into the right kind of new company to fill the void being created in the industry today?”
During times of change it’s usually easier to build from scratch than try to modify existing structures – there’s no baggage, protocol or politics, all of which tend to limit transformation and creativity. As a result, many existing real estate brokers are sluggish to adapt thereby allowing outsiders to enter the industry by identifying key niches and filling them faster than the incumbents.
Numerous ventures exist today that are already starting to change the home buying and selling paradigm – companies like Realtor.com, RealEstate.com, eBay, Google, Yahoo, Craigslist, HouseValues.com, Zillow, etc. The jury is still however out on which traditional real estate brokerage companies will adapt effectively enough to remain or become future industry leaders.
Another hot discussion is recent blog about the huge surge in the total number of real estate licensees in California during recent years. According to the California Department of Real Estate the total passed the half-million mark in May, at 500,053. In June, the total number of licensees in the state reached 504,144 up a whopping 28% since June 2004.
With an estimated population in California of just over 37 million, one out of every 73 Californians are now a licensed agent, chances are very good that there is an agent or two living on your street.
