ACOM EMR, provider of professional and business office automtion solutions a for chiropractors and other healthcare practioners, has partnered with DMX Works, Inc. to crate an analysis and reporting solution for users of DMX' digital motion x-ray systems. The devices enable doctors to spot conditions or injuries that may be difficult to detect on still images. The interactive software solution walks doctors throught the examinaton process, produces reports automatically.

The Healthcare Business Division of ACOM Solutions, Inc. and DMX Works, Inc. have entered the referral phase of a development and referral business partnership under which ACOM has created an automated Findings and Observations reporting solution that supports users of DMX Works’ digital motion x-ray system, it was announced today by DMX Founder/President Dr. John Postlethwaite and Gregory T. Church, vice president and general manager of the Healthcare Business Division.

DMX Works enables doctors to perform highly detailed x-ray examinations by sequentially imaging injured areas at 30 frames-per-second while patients perform natural movements. The process can reveal soft-tissue injuries that often are undetectable in still x-ray images, leading to more comprehensive courses of treatment for patients and more favorable reimbursement results for the physician.

The new solution, iDMX, is available now from the ACOM Healthcare Business division It is comprised of a tablet computer and specialized on-board software that allows doctors to assemble their Findings and Observations reports themselves using coordinated side-by-side presentations of the x-ray image sequences and a four-page electronic check-list. Previously, most users have relied on radiology consultants to interpret the images.

The iDMX checklist walks the doctor through the DVD-resident images displayed on the tablet computer screen, indicating what to look for and providing selection boxes through which to record the observed conditions. Each selection box is associated with standardized text blocks that automatically generate a Findings and Observations report on completion of the checklist.

Under terms of the partnership, DMX users can obtain iDMX by either contacting the Healthcare Business Division directly (866-286-5315) or through referral from DMX Works. ACOM and DMX will engage in co-marketing activities, among them seminar presentations and direct marketing to DMX system users. ACOM representatives will provide interested DMX system users with a comprehensive product briefing, including an opportunity to participate in a live demo of the product. A preview is available as a Flash demo at the Healthcare Business Division website Pricing begins at $7,999.00.

“iDMX represents a true breakthrough for our users,” Dr. Postlethwaite said. “It is precise and complete and it recaptures control of the reporting process for the DMX user. We are pleased to continue our partnership with ACOM in marketing the solution and we enthusiastically recommend it to our users.”
