Salmon Creek Public Relations of Vancouver Washington (SCPR) announced today that The Miracle League of Southwest Washington signed an agreement making Salmon Creek Public Relations Inc. the agency of record.

“We needed a community minded agency with experience developing the best possible communications strategy and also a good understanding of corporate partnerships and sponsorships of non-profit organizations. Loran Hickton of Salmon Creek Public Relations has spent many years heading up Corporate & Sports Related Marketing as well as Event Planning for Bayer Corporation before he created Salmon Creek Public Relations Inc. SCPR has also represented many community and non-profit groups and they really understood the needs of the Miracle League of Southwest Washington. SCPR is donating the majority of services they are providing. Essentially, if Salmon Creek makes any profit it will be directly related to reaching our long-term goals at the conclusion of the contract or when the first child is up at bat on our new baseball field and community facility field. We are pleased to have a local agency that is creative, caring, and talented like Salmon Creek Public Relations Inc., this is truly a win/win arrangement” Stated Arthur Liss, Board President of Miracle League of Southwest Washington.

What is Miracle League?

The Miracle League is a national organization the helps win private-public partnership funding to build ball fields for children with disabilities. These special fields are constructed in such a way that even children in wheelchairs can play. This all began in our community when Vancouver resident, Art Liss, wanted to get a Miracle League ball field built at the Harmony Sports Complex in Camas.

As of April 2006 there are 143 Miracle League Organizations across the country, 41 completed rubberized fields, 61 fields under construction and another 30 plus groundbreakings scheduled for 2006. Our immediate goal of 500 plus Miracle League fields including several international locations, will serve approximately 1.3 million children, this being made possible with the help of communities, volunteers, parents, donators, individual sponsors, and corporate sponsors this program will be offered to every city in the country so children with special needs around the globe will have this same opportunity. The Miracle League believes;

“Everyone Deserves A Chance to Play Baseball.”
