Charles Jay Lays Out Full Menu of Emmy Odds, From A to Z: Get Ready to Be "Bet" - Fantasy Style - Through BetCharlesJay

Charles Jay covers the Emmy awards with odds on all categories - check them out through BetCharlesJay.com, then bet them fantasy-style.

(PRWEB) August 26, 2006 -- Charles Jay has put together odds in each and every category for primetime Emmy Awards show, to be held on August 27 at 8 PM Eastern time. Once again, wild, wacky and challenging propositions abound.

Jay makes the odds for his own fantasy sportsbook operation that can be found through BetCharlesJay.com (http://www.betcharlesjay.com), and has occasionally contributed his unorthodox odds to some of the world's top internet sportsbooks.

In the major categories, Jay has listed "The Office" as the solid favorite to win for Best Comedy Series, at 5/6 (-120), with Grey's Anatomy a virtual lock to win Best Drama Series at 2/5 (-250). Steve Carrell of "The Office" heads the list of nominees for Lead Actor in a Comedy at 3/5 (-160), ahead of Tony Shalhoub of "Monk" (13/5). For Lead Actress in a Comedy, Jane Kaczmarek of "Malcolm in the Middle" (13/10, or +130) is a slight favorite over Lisa Kudrow of "The Comeback" (2/1). Denis Leary of "Rescue Me" is 2/3 (-150) to win Lead Actor in a Drama, with perennial nominee Kiefer Sutherland of "24" listed at 5/2 (+250). And Kyra Sedgwick of "The Closer" is 3/2 (+150) to win Lead Actress in a Drama, in a tight battle with Oscar winner Geena Davis from "Commander-in-Chief" (17/10) and Frances Conroy of "Six Feet Under" (12/5).

Like Davis, there are other Oscar winners in contention for Emmys. Ben Kingsley (8/5) and Jon Voight (3/1) are up for Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. Kathy Bates (7/2) is a candidate for Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. Ellen Burstyn (3/2) and Cloris Leachman (8/5) are nominated for Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie, and Jeremy Irons (8/5) is contending for Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. Jay has posted a special proposition for Oscar winners to sweep all four acting awards in the "Miniseries or Movie" category, listing it at 23/1.

As usual, the artful Jay has constructed a number of imaginative proposition wagers for the Emmys. One of them is the "Chief Executive" prop, which will pay off at 160/1 if Davis, Martin Sheen of "The West Wing," and Gregory Itzin of "24" - all of whom play the President of the United States in their respective series - win Emmys in the categories in which they are nominated. The there is the "Gandhi and Blondie" prop, which returns a price of 11/1 if Kingsley ("Mrs. Harris") and Jamie Pressly ("My Name is Earl") win for their projects.

The "Seinfeld Reunion" prop is 50/1, and would require that Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), the creator of "Seinfeld," and that show's former co-star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") both win. And the "Sheen Sweep" proposition will pay 15,000/1 if Martin Sheen of "The West Wing" and Charlie Sheen of "Two and a Half Men" both win for their lead roles and if their shows win Emmys for Drama and Comedy, respectively.
