New Ice Planet Fan Site Gains International Support
The unofficial fan site for the forthcoming Canadian/German co-production of Ice Planet, starring Michael Ironside, has just went international following the appointment of our US Gaming correspondant
(PRWEB) August 27, 2006 -- The unofficial fansite ice-planet.tv has just recruited its newest member, a 26 year old Texan with a long standing reputation for quality reviewing in the Michael ironside "Splinter Cell" gaming community. She joins an established ensemble of dedicated individuals who have been working tirelessly to produce a professional level fan site in preperation for the release of the new Ice Planet show this fall/winter. Ice-planet.tv now has contrubuters in Europe, Canada and the USA.
As the development of the unofficial site progresses, recognition from the international science fiction community has spiraled. Our chief editor, Vincent Fox,reports "We already knew that the production company, Spaceworks, were regular visitors and eagerly await our monthly newsletters and regular updates, but our notoriety seems to be spreading. Already we have members in Canada, the USA and Eastern Europe as well as in the UK and Ireland, several of whom have joined our growing forum and commented on our site and the show. And the visitors are now coming in their thousands to follow the development of this exciting project."
With the studio lease in Toronto signed and filming due to start in the next few weeks, a list of primary actors and actresses is being compiled for circulation among the networks for approval.
"When final approval is given we hope to update our cast list accordingly."
The gaming community is eagerly awaiting news on the Ice Planet game, which has already been confirmed for X-BOX 360 release, as well as a mobile version in the latter stages of production by Silverbirch Studios.
The game will be available in 'multiple wireless devices'. “ One of the challenges of mobile game development is that in order to get a game distributed to the widest audience possible, we have to ensure there are versions available for all of the major makes and models of phones.” Says Silverbirch’s CEO Kevin Birch. “This can mean literally hundreds of different versions ("skus") of a game when you also factor in the need for multiple languages.”
