On August 21, Full Sail Real World Education welcomed back a panel of experts from the Live Audio and Lighting industries to address students in the Full Sail Show Production & Touring Degree Program. Representatives from companies such as: AVI, Caesars Palace, Design Partners, Inc., High Performance Images, “Live from Lincoln Center,” Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Showco/Clair Brothers and Universal Studios Entertainment were all in attendance.
The panel returned with some new experts to provide professional insight to Full Sail students, and to share their perspective on the ideal candidate they look for to fill positions in each of their corporations. “Full Sail is excited to host such accomplished companies within the industry,” said Tammy Gilbert, Vice President of Career Development. “The interaction between the professionals and the students provides a one-of-a-kind exchange of information between current industry experts and future graduates in the field.”
Students obtaining their degree in Show Production and Touring become versed in all aspects of the field such as the fundamentals of sound, multimedia, computers, technology and equipment used in the live entertainment industry, and the most sophisticated levels of advanced show production. Students also learn how to fully operate equipment from basic sound systems to the most complex computerized sound, lighting and acoustical measurement systems, as well as electronics maintenance, computer-aided design (CAD), and the operation of moving lights.
“The success of the Show Production and Touring Degree Program is evident in our graduates, and we are very proud of all that they have achieved,” said Dana Roun, Program Director of Show Production and Touring. “In concert production alone, our graduates have gone on to work with the #1 grossing World Tour 6 out of the last 6 years including: Madonna “Re-Invention,” Rolling Stones “Licks,” Paul McCartney “Back In The World,” U2 “Elevation” and “Vertigo,” and Tina Turner “Twenty Four Seven.”
