Pamela Anderson, who has recently launched PamelaAndersonPokerSite.com, hopes to put pressure on KFC executives in hopes of improving the conditions of alleged mistreated chickens.

San Jose, Costa Rica: August 27, 2006 –- Animal rights activists PETA and Pamela Anderson kicked off an animal welfare campaign Friday. The Ethical Treatment of Animals said it had sent a graphic video narrated by Pamela along with a letter written by her, to the fast-food chain's operations in Hong Kong. Chickens, particularly those served at KFC, are a popular favorite in the Asia Pacific markets.

Pamela Anderson urged diners to boycott American fast-food giant KFC over alleged mistreatment of chickens. "Sadly the main ingredient (in KFC chickens) is cruelty," Anderson says in the video, adding that KFC raised more than 750 million chickens annually but treated them like machines, not animals. Jason Baker, director at PETA Asia Pacific added -- "Most of the fast-food restaurants in the world have basic animal welfare policy but KFC has none".
