Breuckelen, a unique and innovative clothing line introduces its first collection of men and women’s apparel. The lifestyle collection debuts in Spring 2007 with a range of essential styles including short and long sleeve tees, tanks, halter tops and polo shirts.
More than just a clothing line, Breuckelen is classic American style infused with neo-urban sensibility. The buffalo, red rebel star and the Brooklyn Bridge are prevalently featured as decorative symbols throughout the line, representing strength, action and unity.
Created by Malcolm Louis Adams, the collection utilizes his extensive experience in the fashion industry and his desire to create a neo-urban brand that is more than just a clothing label.
“I wanted to create a line that was more than just a tee-shirt or a baseball cap. I wanted it to not only say something, but to mean something to the person who wears it. I want people to feel like they are part of a positive social movement without losing their sense of individuality,” said Malcolm.
Malcolm took inspiration from the borough in which he grew up (and still resides) and incorporates the multicultural aspect of Brooklyn’s various neighborhoods into the collection with classic silhouettes, unique textures and a broad color palette.
Beginning modestly, the initial collection features fine jersey knits, baby rib tees, 2x1 rib tanks, cap sleeve tees and long sleeve raglan shirts all in 100% cotton.
The brand will eventually expand to include denim in various fits and washes, outerwear, casual blazers and pants, woven knits and full range of accessories. Special attention will be given to details such as antique nickel finish buttons, iron branded leather patches and contrast stitching in non-traditional colors. Eco-friendly washes and fabrications such as organic cotton, hemp and bamboo will be utilized.
