David J. Billings has self-published his first children’s book, Road Trip with Rabbit and Squash, through Lulu, the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books.

Road Trip with Rabbit and Squash is a full color book that tells the tale of Bear, whose friend Rabbit takes him on a deceptively short road trip with no apparent plan. What Rabbit really has in mind is a journey that will open up Bear’s view of the world and himself. Funny and thoughtful with unique surprises along the way, Road Trip with Rabbit and Squash is a story aimed not only at kids but the parents that read to them.

David J. Billings both wrote and illustrated Road Trip with Rabbit and Squash, his first published work. “This was a really fun book to create because both Bear and Rabbit share elements of my own personality,” says David. "The style of illustration is one that I've developed over many years and it's exciting to see it in print," he adds.

He came to Lulu because he wanted to be in control of the publishing process. Lulu’s print-on-demand service has allowed David to publish his vision exactly as he intended. Road Trip with Rabbit and Squash is available for purchase online.
