Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) August 30, 2006 -- Conference tackles both domestic and international issues regarding energy policy and future forecasts by industry leaders and experts on topics such as Mideast violence, war on terror and hurricane Ernesto. The International Energy Policy Conference to be held in Dallas, Texas, is shaping up to be the energy event of the year to attend.
“With speculation on what oil & gas prices will do based upon the war on terror, fighting among middle eastern countries, and Ernesto barreling down on the gulf coast region, a comprehensive energy policy should be at the forefront of our nation’s concerns,” stated Mark A. Stansberry, Founder and Chairman of the International Energy Policy Conference. “Without a doubt, we are living in the most crucial times in our nation’s history. Energy continues to be the key for not just our way of life, but the very survival of our nation. We saw this vision 13 years ago and believe in it even more so today,” Stansberry noted about the conference’s goal of energy education, awareness and need for action concerning America’s energy policy.
The conference will host various energy executives, legislators and dignitaries. “The conference is open to all in the energy industry, legislative and public sectors,” said Stansberry. “We have speakers that cover a wide range of topics, and who are specific to the international realm such as the Hon. Robert Jordan who was the former U. S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.”
Another such notable speaker is James A. Beck. Beck retired July 1, 2006, from Seneca Resources Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Company. Mr. Beck joined National Fuel Gas in 1989 as Manager of Operations for Seneca's California production, following 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry throughout the United States and internationally. In 1995, he was elected Executive Vice President of Seneca and had been President since 1996. Seneca has operations in the onshore area of Texas and Louisiana, as well as offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, Appalachia, California and the western provinces of Canada.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Beck accepted the position as Chairman of the Foundation for Energy Education. This not-for-profit organization was started in 1996 to inform the public on all aspects of energy use and conservation. Its current emphasis is on highlighting the importance of the independent oil companies during this current energy crisis. Patterned after the OERB in Oklahoma, their goal is to achieve the same success in Texas.
“Although one of our focuses is on American energy policy, we live within a global marketplace and recognize how the international community plays a part not only in our industry, but in our economy as well,” Stansberry commented. This year’s conference theme is “America’s Energy Future: A Global Perspective.” The Energy Advocates, Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers are serving as Co-Hosts. Dallas Energy Entrepreneur Ed Blessing of Blessing Petroleum is the 2006 Host Chairman for IEPC.
