Dantel Adds New Capabilities to WebMon Edge Remote Surveillance Appliance

The new features allows customers to customize their remote surveillance solutions.

(PRWEB) August 29, 2006 -- Dantel, Inc. the leader in network surveillance and management systems, today announced that it will provide licensed features on its WebMon® Edge remote surveillance appliance. The new features will allow customers, particularly those in telecommunications, to customize their remote surveillance solution according to their specific needs.

“We are continuing to incorporate new features into the WebMon family of products, the most recent of which is the addition of 8 analog inputs on the WebMon Edge,” said Alan Hutcheson, president and CEO of Dantel. “Analog inputs will provide, for example, the ability for end users to monitor and predict battery life in remote cabinets, which allows them to head off potential equipment malfunction and revenue loss.”

“While the feature rich WebMon Edge is a competitively priced product as it stands today, we plan to license certain features,” said Dave Lauger, director of business development. “If all the end user requires is analog inputs, the Edge will be priced accordingly. At a later date additional features can be turned up as needed.”

About the WebMon Edge
The WebMon Edge is a fully integrated remote monitoring and surveillance appliance that combines telemetric, transport and security capabilities into a single platform for integrated operation in any environment. It is an ideal solution for monitoring cabinets and other remote locations. The Edge can operate in a standalone application or as an integrated component of a network-wide surveillance application. It fully supports SNMP versions 1.0, 2.0c and 3.0 to managers such as HP OpenView, Micromuse ™ Net Cool®, or Dantel’s VisionMaster

The WebMon Edge protects remote locations and assets by combining visual, discrete, analog, and digital information into a common TCP/IP platform. Access is available through wired and wireless (CDMA, GSM, EDGE) networks using Internet and Intranet applications such as: web browser, e-mail, cellular messaging, paging and SNMP messaging (traps). The Edge also features arithmetic or Boolean decision driven controls, analog and discrete inputs, and an on-board temperature and humidity sensor.
