LogiXML Announces New Open Source Site for Business Intelligence Applications

McLean, VA (PRWEB) August 31, 2006 -- LogiXML, Inc. today introduced the launch of a new Open Source site as the first step toward allowing access to a portfolio of applications built on the company’s LGX platform. The company has developed this site to aggressively support collaborative development through open sharing of information, documentation and BI applications built using the LogiXML platform.
The new site http://opensource.logixml.com is a community forum designed for sharing and collaboration and will host a variety of LGX-based BI applications that users can download to use and modify as they choose. LGX-based applications, which are assembled from pre-defined elements, are defined by the company as “appliments.” The site will also offer a place to post issues, a discussion forum for exchanging technical information and a documentation library for each project.
LogiXML encourages community users to register their open source appliments. These open source appliments can be readily customized to meet the needs of users in the community. The site will include business intelligence appliments developed using LGX Report, LGX Report Plus or LGX Info. LGX report is available free of charge at www.freereporting.com. By using LGX Report Plus and LGX Info developers can easily make reports actionable by creating and attaching processes to a report that can interact with the mail server, file system, database, web services or other applications. LGX Info appliments can take advantage of the product’s dashboarding and advanced data visualization features.
