Lean Manufacturing Podcast by Shingo Prize Winning Author
Podcast by 2002 Shingo Prize winning author, Gary Conner now available at no cost.
Newport, Oregon (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- 2002 Shingo Prize winning author, trainer and consultant Gary Conner has made the first of eight podcasts available to the public at no cost.
In order to more effectively spread the word about the lean manufacturing principles adopted at world class companies like Toyota, GE, Harley Davidson and others, Lean Enterprise Training, in Newport Oregon has made available (the first of eight) forty-minute podcasts to manufacturing and service sectors at no cost.
These tools apply equally to OEM (original equipment manufacturers) as well as make-to-order businesses, but the later have often struggled to apply the same techniques with the same level of positive and sustainable results.
The high mix, low volume nature of the make-to-order business requires a hybrid approach. Based on work experience with nearly 100 companies, Gary Conner (recipient of the 2002 Shingo Prize [named after Shigeo Shingo, Toyota Engineer and change agent) has personally recorded this forty minute session. Based on real life examples and case studies, this series will explore the many tools in the Lean Disciples' tool box.
This is the same material used throughout Mr. Conner's popular 40-hour Lean Leader course. The process of transforming a company from "business as usual", to the "lean approach" is clearly defined. Using a Time phased project plan, each step in the transformation process is explored.
Lean Enterprise Training has also made the participant guide for this one-week course available for sale as a stand alone learning tool. This 350 page text is available in both English and in Spanish.
Please visit Lean Enterprise Trainings' website for details on upcoming workshops, book order forms, and to subscribe to future podcasts as they become avaiable.
This multi media podcast can be played on most computers and is compatable with portable storage and media devices such as IPOD equipment.
We truely hope you enjoy this first session.
Please note: A link to the free podcast is available on the website associated with this press release.
