The Duplessy Foundation Presents a Night of Fashion, Comedy, and Fundraising With D3B: Fashion Forward!
The Duplessy Foundation (www.duplessy.org) will shake up the fundraising, entertainment, and fashion scene with its fundraiser, ‘D3B: Fashion Forward!’ on Thursday, September 21, 2006. The event will be held at Nick's Comedy Stop in Boston, MA.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 5, 2006 -- The Duplessy Foundation (www.duplessy.org) will shake up the fundraising, entertainment, and fashion scene with its fundraiser, ‘D3B: Fashion Forward!’ on Thursday, September 21, 2006.
D3B will include a fashion show featuring some of the hottest designers in Boston fashion scene, a comedy show with local and nationally known comedians, a live auction, and interactive online auction on the foundation’s website, www.duplessy.org.
This year’s event, aims to raise $25,000 for professional development programs for alumni of the Urban Scholars Program (www.urbanscholars.umb.edu) and the Summer Search Foundation (www.summersearch.org).
WHDH Channel 7 reporter, Janet Wu and the Dynamic Duo of Comedy, Corey Manning and Chris Tabb will be hosting this fundraising extravaganza.
‘D3B: Fashion Forward!’ will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2006 (Doors open at 7:00pm, Show ends at 10pm) at Nick’s Comedy Stop, located in Boston’s theater district at 100 Warrenton St., Boston, MA. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
Designers include Jess Myre, Samuel Vartan, Kim Pham, Gail Schneider, Danai Mavridis. Their styles are influenced by everywhere from Los Angeles to Greece to Montreal to Vietnam and many points in between.
Comedians include Rick Younger, who was featured in the musical ‘RENT’, Kelly McFarland, a contestant on NBC’s The Biggest Loser, Mugga, a comedienne who has toured all over the United Kingdom, and Steven Donovan, co-host, of the Zito and Jen Show on WXLO 104.5FM.
Some sponsors include: ESPN, TJX, Talbots, Park Plaza Hotel, Todd English's Bonfire Restaurant, Fairmont Copley Hotel, SmithMaxfield Studios, and Polestar Events.
Be prepared to be dazzled by some talented young designers and be left exhausted from laughter by our talented comedians, all for a worthy cause.
