The Amsterdam Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy support Love in the City and temporarily extend its number of rooms in September with the Full Llove Inn of artist Federico d´Orazio
Some of the lovers checking in at Lloyd Hotel in September, won’t get a key to enter their room but a ladder. They have booked to stay in the Full Llove Inn, a rebuild Opel Kadett car framed on 4,5 metre tall poles.
Federico d´Orazio creates a space for love and intimacy
The Italian artist Federico d´Orazio lives in the Netherlands since 1995 and built a reputation with his art works for the public space. Characteristic of his work is the blend of art and entertainment. It plays with the urge to satisfy human wants and needs. In urban environments these are related to intimacy and human contact. Life in the city is increasingly dominated by a daily struggle of large groups of individuals. There isn´t enough space, time and money for everyone. People pursue fame, success, fun and entertainment, surrogates for happiness. With his Full Llove Inn, a stripped down car on tall poles and with a comfortable interior, d´Orazio creates a space for love and intimacy in the public space, a love nest high above the madding crowd. Lovers are invited to spend the night here for free.
The Cultural Embassy supports Llove in the City
Love in the City is cooperation between SKOR Foundation Art and Public Space, and Paradiso. Both are members of the Cultural Embassy of the Lloyd Hotel. The Cultural Embassy supports the activities of its members as much as possible. This can take the form of bringing their projects to the attention of guests, offering presentation space to visiting artists or even by extending Lloyd Hotel temporarily. For the whole of September one will be able to book this extra, spectacular room to enjoy Llove in the City.
