Segway of Oakland Named Top Dealer in Northwestern Region
A veteran sales and rental dealership, Segway of Oakland, picked up one of 12 worldwide awards handed out in July by the parent company, Segway, LLC, for outstanding achievement and top sales in the company’s Northwestern Region, which stretches from the middle of Los Angeles up the Pacific coast to Alaska.
(PRWEB) September 3, 2006 -- A veteran sales and rental dealership, Segway of Oakland, picked up one of 12 worldwide awards handed out in July by the parent company, Segway, LLC, for outstanding achievement and top sales in the company’s Northwestern Region, which stretches from the middle of Los Angeles up the Pacific coast to Alaska.
The award included a tour of the Bedford, New Hampshire facility where the popular, two-wheeled electric vehicles are manufactured.
“I think we caused more of a buzz than other dealers, and also sold more units in our region than any other,” explained Segway of Oakland partner, Steve Steinberg. “In presenting us with the plaque, they cited sales, service, public relations buzz, and involvement with the Segway community. Nobody is as involved in SegAmerica (online user group) as we are, and then playing Segway Polo every week, things like that.
“We do stuff with other Segway owners on a weekly basis,” he added. “We play polo, organize a campus cruise and a Sausalito ride, and we participated in the Danville Fourth of July parade for the second year in a row with our custom units. We also perform demonstrations at places like Hewlett-Packard, Apple, and the Ronald McDonald House, and it is all organized through the SegAmerica user group.”
Segway of Oakland partner, Darren Romar, noted there are approximately 240 Segway dealerships worldwide, with about 110 located in the United States. Last year, Segway of Oakland ( www.segwayofoakland.com ) and associated businesses such as Segway Junkyard ( www.segwayjunkyard.com ) tallied the most sales of new and used Segway units.
