Face to Face

There’s nothing quite like meeting and networking in the flesh, as Exectec, a networking group, is proving with its 100th weekly meeting.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 5, 2006 -- The Internet may be the hottest networking tool around, but with 100 meetings in just two years, Exectec, a networking group, proves that there’s nothing like encountering people face to face.

“There is no better way to form a lasting connection with a person that you have just met than to share a meal and conversation of common interest,” says Joel Ordesky of Exectec. “Over the last two years, I have had the privilege to meet and get to know a lot of great executives and watch as the relationships have led to partnerships, people getting recommended to jobs, collaborative efforts and so much more.”

Exectec, made up primarily of executives from the entertainment, media, technology and related fields, will celebrate its 100th weekly meeting on Tuesday, September 26, at their regularly scheduled dinner at 7:30 pm at D'Amores Pizza Connection in Westwood.

Ordesky, an executive in the entertainment business himself, has led a group of over 400 executives in such weekly dinners. Every week, members come together to discuss the latest in technology and business issues.

In a world where social networking is more and more an online affair, Exectec is taking networking back to its face-to-face roots. With more and more executives reaching out to online social networking tools like Linkedin, Spoke, Soflow, Ryze and Ecademy to help make and manage connections, the need for some place to close the loop and allow executives to meet, form and maintain those relationships is greater then ever.

This is, says executive and business coach Steve Zuback, a “great group of thoughtful, smart people with depth of experience, intelligence, wit, and excellent communication skills." Klaus Schmidt, who has served as CEO of a Silicon Valley-based Internet video company as well as marketing director for Lotus Development, has called Exectec “dynamic, inspiring and informative.”
