MAXITECH.BIZ (www.maxitech.biz) London UK-Based Computer Recycling Company Scoops A Commendation Award for Innovation in THE NATIONAL BUSINESS AWARDS 2006

Award Winning London UK Computer Recycling Company.

(PRWEB) September 6, 2006 -- Maxitech.biz has been awarded the coveted Chairman's Commendation Award for its entry in The AXA Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award category at this year's National Business Awards.

This discretionary Award is available in five innovation-focused categories and is made by the Chairman of the Judges at the short-listing stage of the judging process.

The certificate of commendation will be presented to Maxitech.biz at the pre-dinner drinks reception of the Awards dinner on 7 November at London's Park Lane Grosvenor House Hotel.

Described by The Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown MP as "the UK's business Oscars," The National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange recognises and rewards excellence, innovation and success. Uniquely open to companies of all sizes and from any industry sector, the programme, which was founded in 2002, allows the best of British businesses to showcase their achievements and benchmark their successes against firms of all types.

Peter Paduh Managing Director of Maxitech.biz who came to UK as a 15 year old refugee and was recently recognised with the Young Business person of the year award at the London Business Awards said: "Maxitech provides a win-win solution for firms who want to upgrade their computer systems. We live in a throw away society where we often ignore opportunities old equipment can afford to the underprivileged. Maxitech provides often-neglected communities with access to technology, training to unemployed and disadvantaged people and at the same time benefit the environment. Instead of dumping the old equipment in landfills, we take it off their hands, wipe all the data, recondition the computers and bring them back into use thus benefiting our clients Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) profile."

Haringey Council, Shell London, Lloyd's of London and the Bank of England are among Maxitech.biz clients. Maxitech has provided training opportunities for more than 100 refugees and underprivileged workers at its base in North London, Haringey.

In September 2005 Mr Paduh received the London Day Award certificate from Mayor Ken Livingstone in recognition of his outstanding contribution to life in London. He also received a certificate in the Enterprising Young Brits 2005 awards where he met Chancellor Gordon Brown.

In a pilot programme over the past 3 years, MAXITECH.BIZ has found that a typical organisation can recover 5% of the initial cost of redundant IT equipment while meeting the requirements of WEEE directive on requiring recycling and reuse of old electronic equipment. And one firm in three can actually generate a positive return from their recycling programme, delivering an unexpected boost to hard-pressed IT budgets

Alastair MacLeod, Vice President, Orange Business Services said, "The nominations for this year's National Business Awards have been simply outstanding and we hope these awards will be an inspiration for businesses across the UK. The awards provide a platform to elevate the importance all British businesses play, independent of size or industry in creating a thriving economy."

Maxitech is a multi-award-winning company dedicated to reusing and recycling redundant IT and electronic equipment. Maxitech is based in North London, but can arrange for the nationwide collection of IT and electronic equipment at low cost. Maxitech's preference is to reuse equipment received, thus prolonging its lifespan, minimizing waste and benefiting charities and community groups who receive low-cost or free IT equipment. Maxitech provides more than 100 training opportunities each year for refugees and long-term unemployed people, to help them get into full-time employment.
