Devil is in the Water, Comic Book Details Horrors of Old West

The tale of Henry Hill is told in a new horror/western comic book put out by King Tractor Press available in September Previews catalog.

(PRWEB) September 7, 2006 -- The tale of Henry Hill is told in a new horror/western comic book put out by King Tractor Press available in September Previews catalog.

In this prologue to the horrific and comedic story of Henry Hill's encounters with outlaws, demons, angels, and religious fanatics in the Old West, a gang of bandits murder an old prospector who has discovered the Mother Lode. When they blast their way inside, they discover more gold than they could spend in a hundred lifetimes ... and a pool of magical water that makes the gold irrelevant.

Meanwhile, the traveling salesman and inventor Henry Hill is plagued by nightmares of demons and monsters. He finds his way to the rough frontier town of Dry Gulch, where he quickly learns that snake-oil salesmen aren't well-regarded around those parts...

Devil Water #1, written by Steven Barr.
Steven Barr co-wrote the film Plant Life with Joellyn Anderson, currently in development with Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, writer/producers whose credits include Shrek, The Mask of Zorro, and The Pirates of the Caribbean. He has also written and directed "Violet's Home" and other award winning short films. The art in Devil Water #1 is by Tielman Cheaney, a fine artist living in Las Vegas.

Paperback Reader says "I liked this issue and I liked the way Barr has set up his story. I don’t have a clue what is going to happen next, but that’s always a positive sign in a horror story. If you enjoy horror comics, or the renewed interest in Westerns, you should certainly look into Devil Water."

Indy-Pendant said "the story itself for the most part was pretty enjoyable. The pacing fit, the dialogue was on point for the time period, each scene had meaning and flowed into the next... Nothing was arbitrary. "
