Jetmobile Awarded Singapore Patent 104066 for Secure Mobile Printing

Jetmobile has been awarded a Singapore Patent covering the rerouting of document across a network based on identification of users on the output peripheral, with optional encryption. The newly issued patent forms the basis of Jetmobile fast growing business in secure mobile printing and server-based print jobs retention.

The newly issued patent forms the basis of Jetmobile fast growing business in secure mobile printing and server-based print jobs retention. A patent was also granted in may 2005 for this invention by the US patent office.

Singapore patent number 104066 is a utility patent called "Method and system for using a selected peripheral of a network". Peripheral refers to devices generating documents, such as printers, copiers, digital projector, paperboard etc. Allowing documents to be rerouted dynamically where they are needed, often where their owner needs them to be output, helps improving productivity and managing a large quantity of documents available on-line. This patent covers technology that will allow the systems to securely forward documents where and when they are needed. The technology will find applications in enterprise, small and medium business and consumer document delivery systems. SecureJet, from Jetmobile, is the first product line including that patented technology.

That new patent awarded contains 31 claims, including a method where the user identifies himself directly on the output peripheral (printer, copier, projector...) using a keypad, badge reader or biometrics device. The server then validates the user and selectively pushes to the peripheral all documents requested by the user.
