Today NABA Executive Director Nathan Forbes is pleased to announce that the North American Barter Association is recognizing and commending the top ten barter exchanges in North America based on second quarter merchant survey results and least complaints received by NABA. Key areas of the survey focused on customer service and order fulfillment rates. This year we are not ranking the exchanges since the stats were so close. Therefore the ten barter exchanges we found operating in North America are in no special order of significance as follows:
The Trading Post
Continental Trade Exchange
International Trade Exchange (ITEX)
Midwest Barter Exchange
Tradebank
Barter Depot
North American Barter Exchange
Barter Network Ltd.
Tradesource
Gulf Coast Trade Exchange
While not all of these exchanges are NABA members, we none-the-less applaud their professional and ethical operations to which all barter exchanges should aspire. With over 2,000 active trade exchanges in North America these ten have clearly proven their excellence. Special recognition goes to ITEX for the most improved honors over the last two years. As one of the few barter exchanges that are publicly-traded they have overcome past difficulties to emerge as a leader in barter trade.
Those with the worst records in the barter community will be featured in our “Dirty Dozen Report” to be published in NABA’s fourth quarter newsletter. But for now are hats go off to these barter exchanges that keep our industry one of the most professional in the world. For the some 215 exchanges that earned special merit in our survey, NABA hopes to see them on next year’s top ten list.
