Resort + Recreation Magazine Names Judy Kenninger as Editor
Vacation Ownership and Travel Journalist to Head Established Voice of the Resort Industry
Grand Rapids, Mich. (PRWEB) September 11, 2006 -- Resort+Recreation Magazine, a leading resource for resort and spa professionals, has named Judy Kenninger as editor. In her new capacity, the vacation ownership and travel journalist will research and write original articles on issues facing the resort, vacation ownership, and leisure industry and edit articles by established professionals in the field.
“This is wonderful news for our readers,” says Ron Anger, publisher of Resort+Recreation. “Judy’s vast experience covering the hotel and timeshare industries means she’s very familiar with the issues resort and leisure operators and developers face. Judy’s articles always include usable information in an easy-to-understand manner, which is a perfect fit for our focus on reader-actionable content.”
More changes are in store for the publication, Anger says, as additional resources will allow Resort+Recreation to reach a new level of professionalism as an independent source of reliable information for the industries it covers. Although Kenninger’s appointment becomes effective with the first published issue of 2007, she has already begun contributing to the magazine.
A graduate of Indiana University’s top-rated School of Journalism, Kenninger has more than 20 years professional experience in publications and communications. For the past seven years, she has headed Kenninger Communications, a marketing and public relations consulting firm, and contributed to several publications, including Resort Condominiums International’s award-winning RCI Ventures magazine. Past employment includes corporate communications posts at RCI, the Indiana Motor Truck Association, Indianapolis Newspapers Inc., and the Indiana General Assembly. She will continue as a contributing editor for vacation and residence clubs for Stratos Magazine, which is distributed in private jets. Active in her industry, Kenninger chairs the American Resort Development Association’s Publications Committee.
With a circulation of more than 20,000, BPA-audited Resort+Recreation is a bi-monthly business magazine serving resort, spa, and club managers, keeping them up-to-speed on vital issues that affect day-to-day operations.
