Increasing coverage means more home owners across the country are able to make smarter decisions in a very difficult real estate marketplace.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 7, 2006
Homethinking, a site that helps consumers choose and connect with real estate agents based on their sales history and consumer reviews, today unveiled a new look and feel and announced the site now covers over one and half million transactions from this year.
According to the NAR, the number of licensed Realtors has exploded from 766,000 in 2000 to nearly 1.3 million in 2005. Choosing a Realtor has never been so daunting as it is today, and with home values rising steadily over the past five years, finding one that fits a consumer's needs is more important now than ever before.
"Homeowners are increasingly being bombarded with solicitations from agents they’ve never heard of, and the reputation of great agents is being drowned out in noise" said Niki Scevak, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Homethinking.
"We are still at the beginning of our journey but reaching one and a half million transactions represents a significant milestone and our coverage is now growing by hundreds of thousands of transactions each month," Scevak continued. "Increasing coverage means more home owners across the country are able to make smarter decisions in a very difficult real estate marketplace."
In conjunction with the increased capabilities, Homethinking has launched a new web site that allows home owners to search and navigate via dynamic maps. Blogs and other site owners are also able to take Homethinking's transaction data and place a free map on their site via an open standard called GeoRSS – an extension of the commonly used RSS. More information on how to implement the real estate maps can be found here.
