Career Services Industry Conference Features Top Authors and Industry Experts

The National Resume Writers’ Association ninth annual conference promises to deliver expert knowledge to career services industry professionals on résumé writing, interview coaching, hiring trends and business-related topics.

Career services professionals know a vital part of keeping abreast of trends in the résumé writing and career coaching field is attendance at national conferences and participation in continuing education programs. The National Resume Writers’ Association (NRWA) ( provides these professionals the opportunity to gain vital career-industry knowledge at their ninth annual conference in Scottsdale, AZ, September 13–16, 2006.

Themed “Write on Target,” the conference features industry-leading and multi-credentialed experts from many different facets of the career services field, including Pat Kendall, author of "Jump Start Your Online Job Search" and co-author of "e-Résumés," and Pat Criscito, author of 11 career books for Barron’s, including her latest publication, "Interview Answers in a Flash."

The conference topics, designed to provide résumé writer and career services practitioners with best practices and expert knowledge in their field, focus on the latest trends in résumé writing, job search, interview coaching, and human resource recruiting intelligence, which will improve the services they provide to their clients. In addition, attendees will gain expertise in business development and marketing practices to ensure success in their business ventures.

In addition, NRWA will feature Mary Schnack of Mary Schnack Media Services, a 25-year veteran of the public relations industry, who will conduct a pre-conference workshop, “Mastering the Power of the Media for Your Business.” In her workshop, Ms. Schnack will teach participants how public relations can be a powerful, cost-effective means to promote their business, how to create a communications plan roadmap for outreach strategies, and methods to build a media relations program utilizing websites, brochures, newsletters, and other materials. She will provide detailed media training to increase the ability to handle questions and clearly present key points when the media interviews the professionals for articles and television and radio program appearances.
