KODAK Scan Station 100 can now connect to major document and records management systems through NSi Software

(NSi), a leading provider of distributed content capture workflow solutions, announce that the recently introduced KODAK Scan Station 100 is now fully integrated with NSi’s Distributed Capture Workflow Software, AutoStore.

The KODAK Scan Station 100 is an office walkup network device that quickly and easily turns paper documents into digital files with the touch of a button for simultaneous sharing via email, storing on the network, routing to networked printers and copiers, and saving on portable USB drives—all without using a computer. It connects to existing network infrastructure and features intuitive and interactive operations—including image preview of scanned images prior to sharing—from a full-color, easy to use, touch screen. Show” award from a field of more than 200 products at FOSE, the premier government technology tradeshow in March of 2006 in Washington, D.C.

NSi’s award winning Distributed Content Capture Workflow platform, AutoStore, provides customers with a proven, rules-based capture workflow solution for capturing, processing and routing content to a wide variety of business applications, databases and document management systems including Documentum, FileNet, AplicationXtender, Captaris Alchemy, Domino.Doc, Hummingbird, Interwoven / iManage, IXOS / OpenText, Lotus Notes/Domino, Lan Fax, Microsoft Exchange, OnBase, Opentext Microsoft SharePoint, SMTP Email Sending / MS Exchange Mailbox, and others.

AutoStore offers the flexibility to capture and process documents, along with security features that ensure information accuracy and accountability, while increasing staff productivity. Through the use of AutoStore, documents can be captured from MFPs/copiers, desktop applications, emails, faxes and many other sources. Once captured, they are processed using one of AutoStore’s process components such as OCR, barcode recognition, or forms recognition. Finally, documents are indexed and routed directly into the business application or database.

Now users can simply walk to a Scan Station 100, invoke any of AutoStore workflow features directly from the touch screen to save and index their documents with a single click using one of the following methods:

  •     Direct Connection to a workflow hot folder, whereby a soft key is created pointing to a monitored hot workflow folder; once documents are scanned, the workflow is initiated.
  •     Direct Connection using an email alias such as Invoices@ACME.com, where a soft key can be created pointing to that email box. Once documents hit the email, a specific workflow gets initiated.
  •     Using R2 SMARTickets, where the index information is pre-printed on a SMART Routing Ticket, and then scanned by the device as part of a document.
