Secure Elements, Inc. (, the leader in standards based compliance and vulnerability management solutions, announced today that Andrew Bove, chief technology officer of Secure Elements and member of the OVAL Board of Directors, will be demonstrating the C5 Enterprise Vulnerability Management solution for compliance benchmarking at the 2nd Annual Security Automation Conference and Workshop in Gaithersburg, Maryland on Tuesday September 19th, 2006.

“Secure Elements has long been a supporter of initiatives that improve security of IT systems that enable timely and effective knowledge sharing, and on-demand IT security control and compliance monitoring,” said Ned Miller, chief executive officer of Secure Elements. “By delivering the first commercial solution that fully supports the OVAL & XCCDF XML standards, Secure Elements has taken an industry leading role that other vendors will be measured by. We, and our ecosystem delivery partners, are uniquely positioned to help both the government and private sector demonstrate regulatory compliance regarding the implementation, auditing and monitoring of IT security controls.”

The conference and workshop present a variety of projects and integration efforts that assist the automation of certain features of an organization’s information security program. Several of the key topics that will be discussed and demonstrated at the two day conference are XCCDF and OVAL implementation use cases, as well as to industry requirements.

“The industry has acknowledged the value of open technologies,” said Andrew Bove, chief technology officer of Secure Elements. “By embracing standards such as OVAL and XCCDF and making a commitment to be XML schema driven, we are delivering today what many will later realize as a disruptive breakthrough to the market place. As NIST, NSA, Center for Internet Security, DISA, vendors, and others create and publish XML-based checklists of best practices for secure configurations, our solution enables one to immediately adapt these practices to the enterprise. This includes identifying specific IT control items that may contain an unacceptable risk posture as well as providing an enterprise view of security compliance – on demand.”
