Food Science Researcher Reports That Foods Are Superior to Vitamin Pills

Dr. Vic Shayne reports that nature's foods contain a wide array of nutrients that are not found in any vitamin or multivitamin supplement.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) September 10, 2006 -- Dr. Vic Shayne, Food Science Researcher & Director, Nutrition Research Center, Boulder, CO, has shown that whole, raw and natural foods are far superior to vitamins. This is why he formulated whole foods in supplement form under the NutriPlex Formulas brand.

Shayne said, "Vitamins are at best parts of foods, and at worst they are synthetics made in a lab. But foods are made in nature and contain thousands of nutrients not found in any vitamin or multivitamin product. These nutrients are often more important than the vitamins or minerals alone." The details of Shayne's report are found both on the website http://www.nutritionresearchcenter.org and his new, groundbreaking book (amazon.com) Man Cannot Live on Vitamins Alone.

People are so caught up looking for high potency vitamins that they are not reading between the lines, said Shayne. "The value of nature's foods is that they are innately balanced, don't cause grievous side effects, are not toxic and contain nutrients that regulate very specific biochemical functions within the body." Such nutrients found in whole foods, but not in vitamin pills, including (among other substances): terpenes, chlorophyll, fiber, bioflavonoids, antioxidants, nitrilosides, carotenoids, vitamin and mineral "complexes," whole proteins, preformed vitamin A complex, essential fatty acids, lipids and proanthrocyanins.

"We cannot survive without these nutrients, which is why people should be taking whole food formulas if they cannot or will not eat the foods that they require," said Shayne.

The next best thing to eating whole, raw foods is taking 100% whole food formulas which are available, without fillers, stearates or isolated vitamins, on the http://www.nutritionresearchcenter.org website.
