Roaring Women President Mandie Crawford has been invited as the first Canadian Pearl at the fourth annual Project Legacy held October 20th this year at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. The event celebrates and recognizes the CAN-DO spirit, leadership and success of contemporary women – Executives and Entrepreneurs across the United States – and now Canada.

Project Legacy mixes business with pleasure as men and women come together to celebrate and meet the Pearl Honorees – business women whose achievements, leadership and indefatigable spirit have defined the past, influence the present and will impact on future generations.

Crawford registered surprise when the organizer Toby Nadler contacted her for the first time to invite her to the prestigious event. “I am honored to be invited as a Pearl Honoree. It is an incredible opportunity for me to represent women entrepreneurs here in Canada.” Nadler informed Crawford that she will represent the changing role of women in the workplace - in Canada – and this will be of special significance to the American women and men attending Project Legacy CAN-CAN.

Crawford, former police officer turned author, trainer and columnist is the president of Roaring Women Ltd, an organization that promotes, educates and connects women entrepreneurs and women in business across Canada. The company just over two years old, highlights its members on the website http://www.roaringwomen.com and holds monthly meetings across Canada. In addition Crawford also takes full advantage of technology and offers interactive online business training and now also runs a weekly internet radio show for entrepreneurs.

“Business and Corporate women are leaving the business world to start businesses of their own for many reasons” says Crawford who has interviewed more than 400 Canadian women who have left the ‘corporate rat race.’ “However, our visibility and levels of success still disappoint me.” Crawford speaks passionately about reasons women leave their jobs, as well as the reasons many are not as successful as they hoped to be.

Nadler is excited about Crawford as the first Canadian Pearl. “I researched Roaring Women and Mandie Crawford extensively before making my decision,” indicated Nadler. “Mandie represents the spirit and spunk that is required to become successful – and she is leading others to do the same.”

Mandie Crawford is a two time nominee for Athena – an international women’s leadership award and has also been nominated by WEN as “Most Powerful Women in Canada – Top 100” for 2006.
