New Website Provides Easy Access to Over 125,000 Wine Auction Prices
Newly launched WineAuctionPrices.com (http://www.wineauctionprices.com) online database allows wine professionals and connoisseurs to appraise collections, compare auction houses and research wines.
Oakland, California (PRWEB) September 13, 2006 -- Privately held WineCommune LLC, in partnership with William Edgerton, today announced the launch of WineAuctionPrices.com (http://www.wineauctionprices.com) – an online database of wine auction prices from the top international wine auction houses.
William H. Edgerton is a nationally recognized expert in wine appraisal and is the former editor of Wine Price File.
The WineAuctionPrice.com database contains more than 125,000 wine prices dating back to 2004 from top wine auctioneers. The auction houses covered include:
| | - Bonhams and Butterfield, San Francisco
- Christies, New York, London, California, Paris, Beaune
- Sothebys, New York, London
- Morrell, New York
- Acker, Merrall & Condit, New York
- Hart Davis Hart, Chicago
- Edward Roberts, Chicago
|
Subscribers to the database can search and view the historical for any wine offered at auction. For each wine, you will see a list of actual realized prices, the name of the auction house, the date of the auction and the condition of the bottles sold. The database is updated with each new wine auction as soon as the auction house releases the auction results.
For example, a search for “2000 Mouton-Rothschild” returns:
| | - 94 sale prices
- From 16 auction houses (and locations)
- Low price: $295
- High price: $774
- Average: $408
|
WineAuctionPrices.com offers a free sample of the database at http://tinyurl.com/ftcy2.
Wine lovers can appraise their collections, research individual wines to make more informed purchasing decisions, and save a list of their favorite wines. Wine professionals can gain competitive pricing information and gleam important marketplace data from the database.
WineAuctionPrices.com will soon offer a feature that alerts wine lovers of wine available at auction before the auction occurs – allowing wine lovers to find their favorite wines at any of the top auction houses.
