Property Automation to Offer Tenant Pro 7 Training Online

Longtime forerunner in innovative software solutions for the property management industry, Property Automation now offers the ultimate in convenience, as video training series moves to the Web.

Property Automation has announced that the standard Telephone Basic Training course included with every Tenant Pro Value Package purchase, is soon to be replaced with an updated and expanded online version. The Tenant Pro 7 Basic Training tutorial, previously conducted over the telephone and by appointment only, will be offered as a two-section video presentation. Users will be directed to the site, which previously hosted the training calendar and registration information, to now simply download the new series. Also included in the package pricing is thirty minutes of technical support, which may be used for questions and answers before, during, or after viewing the tutorials.

More than 20,000 property management professionals currently rely upon Tenant Pro to gain immediate access to information about their tenants, owners, units, vendors and properties. A fully integrated accounting system, all-inclusive property management database, and a suite of add-on products have made it the best selling program in the industry for nearly fifteen years.

“Our customers are located in every time zone in the US, all across Canada and in many other countries as well,” states Property Automation president and CEO, Jacob Garza. “Naturally, they all expected the ability to schedule training at the time, place, and on the day that was most convenient for them. Devoting a full hour from a busy property management business day for a training session was sometimes just not feasible. If an appointment was unavoidably missed or had to be canceled, not only did it impact the productivity of our training department, but it could take days, possibly weeks for a customer reschedule. We found this to be particularly true during our peak training and support periods, such as year-end. Now, everyone benefits from the evolving technology that is available to both customers and to Property Automation.”

Online Tenant Pro 7 training will enable customers to train before or after normal business hours, or on weekends. As is also often the case with any new program, a live tutorial progresses too slowly for some, too rapidly for others. Now the user remains in complete control, able to start, pause and stop as often as is necessary to complete the course. Perhaps most advantageous however, is the opportunity to always have access to the series whether a refresher course is necessary, or to teach new personnel. According to Garza, users who have previously completed the telephone version will be permitted the same access to the video version as new Tenant Pro customers.

The one-hour training program employing easy-to-follow narration, screenshots and sample only data is divided into two parts. The first video, “Setup Essentials” consists of fundamental information necessary to get started with Tenant Pro 7, beginning with setting up the Management Company data file. Continuing with Preferences, users are prepared for handling issues such as tenant payments, management fees and security deposits. Other topics include setting up reminders, Chart of Accounts and bank accounts, and adding owners, properties, units and tenants. Section one concludes with a demonstration of the tenant move-in process using one of the new wizards in Tenant Pro 7.

The second video in the Online Basic Training course titled ”Monthly Processes,” is a concise yet thorough examination of the common functions that property managers perform on a recurring basis. Charging rent and late fees, preparing tenant statements, entering tenant payments and entering and paying vendor bills are some of the processes covered. Users are shown how owners and management fees are paid, how to select and run reports and lastly, how to move a tenant out of a unit.

With over thirty-five new features and enhancements, Tenant Pro 7 is proving to be the most significant product release in the history of Property Automation. For more information about features, or to download a free trial version visit
