Why Net Neutrality is a Bogus Issue
Telecommunications expert and NETCompetition.org Chairman Scott Cleland to speak on Net Neutrality panel today at the VON 2006 conference.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 13, 2006 -- Scott Cleland, Chairman of NETCompetition.org, will speak on the VON 2006 conference’s Net Neutrality panel today at 11am EST. In his presentation, titled “Why Net Neutrality is a Bogus Issue,” Cleland will strongly challenge the underlying validity of the net neutrality issue.
Cleland says: “There is no real problem here, only hypothetical and unsubstantiated allegations. Moreover, none of the core assertions underlying the net neutrality concept are true. The net is not neutral today. There is no market failure. Net neutrality is not status quo. And net neutrality is not gaining momentum.” Cleland plans to “pull back the curtain to expose the real special interests that are pulling the strings of this bogus issue behind the scenes.”
Net Neutrality panel speakers include:
Jonathan Banks, Vice President - Executive & Regulatory Affairs, BellSouth
Scott Cleland, Founder & President, Precursor; Chairman, NETCompetition.org
Susan Crawford, Associate Professor, Cardozo Law School
Christopher Libertelli, Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs - N.A, Skype
Aram Shumavon, Advisor to Commissioner Geoffrey F. Brown, California Public Utilities (M)
