Patrick Rice of North Olmsted, Ohio, has been a professional photographer for more than twenty-six years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cleveland State University, the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees, as well as all five levels of the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) Masters degree.
He holds the designation of Certified Professional Photographer from PPA and the Professional Photographers of Ohio (PPO) and has received the Advanced Award Medallion from the Ohio Certified Professional Photographers Commission. He is also the recipient of the Fellowship Award from the Photographic Art Specialists of Ohio (PASO) and Service Award Medallion from the Society of Northern Ohio Professional Photographers (SONOPP). Patrick has received countless Best of Show honors and has also been included in the PPA Loan Collection and PPO’s Ohio Top Ten. He has been named Photographer of the Year by SONOPP five times and twice by the Akron Society of Professional Photographers (ASPP).
In 2000, Patrick received the Honorary Accolade of Lifetime Photographic Excellence from WPPI. In addition, he was selected to receive the Photography Leadership Award from the International Photographic Council at the United Nations in New York City. He is an active member of Senior Photographers International (SPI). Patrick has lectured and judged extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He has presented programs at both the PPA and WPPI annual photography conventions. His work has been published in several photographic magazines, and he is the author of Infrared Wedding Photography (2000), The Professional Photographer’s Guide to Success in Print Competition (2003), Professional Digital Imaging for Wedding and Portrait Photographers (2004), Digital Infrared Photography (2005), Professional Techniques for Black & White Digital Photography (2005), and Digital Portrait Photography of Teens and Seniors (2005), all published by Amherst Media.
